tucked away treasure

I didn't have time to get to know you dad
angels hastily flew you away
small faded photograph in my wallet
your soft smile comforts me each day

What a sweet poem in remembrence of your dad. I wish you'd had longer to know him.

I lost my mother when I was young, so I feel the poignancy of this.

That's a lovely little tribute. I love the "angels hastily flew you away" line. What a comfort it is to think of a death in that way.

When things are said in such a heartfelt way, there's no beautiful or less beautiful...there's truth :) Truth is above all.

Lucy,
A thousand words in a nut shell!
You've given us a crystal clear photograph.

Nice tribute to your dad. So many don't even know who their dad is. At least you have a photo. You don't have to go on Maury and have a DNA test.
