Here is the scenario....

“‘Let’s get this straight - there is a recession going on. There are restrictions on the three wishes now. I don’t do water or air transport now so no boats, planes or magic carpets. As for electronics, forget it. There isn’t the infrastructure on this island.

“‘I can let you have one book and I mean one VOLUME, one essential item and one luxury item. Now hurry up and make your choices, I have to get to those five other islands you are going to nominate.’”

Happy Birthday John

I want to acknowledge the birthday of our beloved John Lennon. It's so Hard to believe he has been gone for nearly 28 years and would have been 68 yrs.old today. I can never forget his special day, He was born the same day and year as a neighbor of mine who also holds a special place in my heart. I know John's message still lives on in so many of us. Hope you will listen to 'imagine' one of my absolute favorite songs, followed by beautiful boy.

Today I awoke with such an awful headache. I made the mistake of taking advil on an empty stomach, which added nausea to my head pain. I feel like I've wasted so much of my precious time off from work. I had wanted to accomplish many errands and more fall cleaning. Instead, I've spent some time sitting quietly with my eyes closed and now that my head is clearing... I was able to read a few blogs, where I found this little meme to share.

1. Think of all your exes. Would you take any of them back?
Well considering I met my husband at the very tender age of 16, NO, the boyfriends before him were pretty much, teeny bopper, puppy love boys.

2. What was the first car you drove? What happened to it?
I drove a blue Plymouth duster that my mom sold to me for ONE dollar!
It was a staller! At each red light, I had to rev it up in park and Pop it into drive.
I have NO idea what I did with that car?? Maybe, Did I sell it? I will have to ask My mom.

3. What’s the longest amount of time you have driven a car non-stop?
I guess that would be only 3 hours up to my sons university, when I had received a call from him that he broke his clavicle. Embarrassing to admit, but it was My FIRST long drive by myself! Again, meeting my life partner at 16.. I leaned on him to do that type of driving.

4. Have you ever been stood up on a date? If yes, when?
Hey! Back when I was dating (dating teeny boppers that is) I was pretty cute! No, No boy ever stood me up!

5. What TV network do you watch the most?
I guess fox. I watch it in the morning and again for the 10:00 news. There are only a handful of shows I really enjoy watching. I like 'the fringe' also on fox and I am enjoying 'true blood' on HBO,even though it's been giving me bad dreams!

6. Pick out a song you like that has special meaning to you. Share with us what song is it, and what’s the meaning to you. Like giggles answered-
"This is the hardest question of all, because I love such a huge variety of music." and so many have special meanings to me, but one that stands out right now is 'everybody hurts' by REM, It seemed to constantly come on during a difficult time that my family was going through and just hearing it makes me cry yet gives me renewed inner strength, that my family can handle anything that comes our way.

7. Who was your first celebrity crush on?
My absolute first was Bobby Sherman! I had his cute posters on my walls, I had his bad 45's on my
record player , I watched his tv show (here come the brides). I imagined myself meeting him and him falling head over heels in love with me too! (I was so silly at 35)

8. What is your favorite romantic comedy movie?
Oh like the music question, there are too many to name! What pops into my head? I Adore the wedding singer! I was even lucky enough to see it on Broadway although it was a short-lived show.

9. It has been said, "First Loves Are Never Over." Is this true for you?
Yes! My first love can still make my heart-beat skip, I will be married to him 28 years this Oct. 26th. And I still get excited when he calls to say he is on his way home from work.

Quirk #1- eye gook in my dogs.. I hate it and need to pick it out with my BARE fingers! ewwww!!


Quirk #2- I don't like to walk barefoot outside ever.



Quirk #3- I really, really like to squeeze OTHER peoples pimples.. Have been known, without warning to spring a surprise attack on innocent, unsuspecting zits.

Quirk #4- (geee who would have thought these would come to me so easily?)-
Hand Washing is my part time job. seriously. I HAVE to wash my hands when I walk in my door. I HAVE to wash them in between most EVERYTHING I do! (TWICE after quirk #1 & 3 )I keep two giant hand sanitizers in each of my car doors cup holders. Between them and my big handbag covering the two cup holders in my console, I CANNOT drink and drive.


Quirk #5- I hate my tv remote control because I am so spastic when it comes to using it.
I ALWAYS push the wrong button and end up in areas of my tvs features that I didn't know I had, AND don't care to discover! NO one likes me 'in control' while watching a movie together.


Quirk #6- I can't stand it when people talk while eating. GEE, I know I am hyper but I WILL wait till you swallow to hear your sentence. PLEASE close your mouth while eating! SO many well mannered people I know, seem to do this! YULK.. It seriously makes me nauseous.



oh, look at that.. Six went by quickly... I have quite a few more.. Oh well.. I'll save them for the next quirky meme!

Book Meme

A new blog for me, that I've been really enjoying is Amaretto girls blog.
She recently emailed me and asked me to do her Book meme. Thanks for tagging me! I also want to thank you for linking your readers to the definition of Meme.. I had always thought it was pronounced MEM like in memo. I was surprised to see Wikipedia actually covers this word!

Now the rules of a book meme are as follows:

My book club and I are reading "the senators Wife" by Sue Miller... It is right here on my desk...
Page 123- sentence 6- Then he mentioned the campaign, his campaign for reelection, which had already begun.

I am not too crazy for this book. It is interesting enough, I want to finish it. But I feel like not much has truly happened. I had originally thought it would be about corruption in the senate. Or, Scandalous, seductive, sexy senator shenanigans! I've been more entertained & shocked by REAL life former N.Y. Senator Spitzer, I guess he is a tough act for a fiction writer to follow!
I am hoping the ending will surprise me and make it worth the read.
