Competition

I am not at all competitive. I love playing board games, but I love them just as much whether I win or lose. ( In my house, I'm just so happy if someone agrees to play with me! Wah! ) So theSunday Scribblings prompt this week, led my very congested brain in another direction....

Each competing for my dire attention
day by day by relentless day
each cramp my brains limited retention
causing me guilt for their dismay
I used to love to pamper them all
gave extra care in the spring and fall!
Now my efforts have somehow lost their groove
lackluster they give me no inspiration
Maybe I'll abandon them all! Just move!
No, I don't possess that determination
I guess I just have to deal with these demanding BORES
Even though I'd rather take a walk on the beach
I guess I just have to do my humdrum household chores
Can you Pass me the toilet-bowl brush and the bleach?

Ah yes -- the exhaustion and pressure of being the 'prize'...

I'm with Daisy - life's too short to waste on cleaning toilets.

Interesting take on the prompt - I say walk on the beach after you pour vinegar in the toilet bowl. It's good, too, to take off your glasses (if you wear them) so that many of the chores are unrecognizable.

hehehe it's true that house chores seem to scream at us when we have to do them. And everything seems to be dirtier than the other...that's competition! ;)

Just visit my house. Then you will feel that yours is spotless in comparison! But that's not the type of competition that's called for, is it?

I just finished half my chores..so I can understand...but I am clean freak.. so unless I finish it all, that beach walk would be no use to me..the toilets would still beckon ;) loved this one Lucy. Thanks.

Such a cool sonnet! I feel like this all the time!

Thanks for visiting my craft blog. Yes, Kylie is my daughter's little girl. She'll be 2 next week. I did this scrapbook of her first year. I've been posting it so my friend in Florida can see it. She listened to me talk about each layout for so long that I figured I'd post the pages. I appreciate your comments!

I wasn't entirely sure you weren't going to mention children or plants. But toilets? Too funny!

Toilet bowl cleaning......? I crank up some good music to drown out the yucky activity.....singing to the Rolling Stones while scrubbing with a toilet brush makes it a little more acceptable.

great take on the prompt!!

I like it.

But I can't begin to tell you how much cleaning I've done at my house lately in somewhat successful attempts to keep from working on projects I've lugged home from work. (toilet bowl included!)
